The People Behind Your Financial Journey
We started Yuvoxer because we kept meeting folks who felt completely lost when it came to investing. The industry makes everything sound complicated on purpose, and that bothered us. So we built something different—a place where Canadians can actually understand what they're doing with their money.
How We Got Here
Our approach to investment education didn't just appear overnight. It grew from real conversations with real people who were frustrated with the usual financial jargon.
The Beginning
Started with weekend workshops in Abbotsford. Just a handful of people who wanted straight answers about RRSPs and TFSAs. No fancy presentations—we drew on whiteboards and answered questions until everyone actually got it.
Going Digital
Word spread, and suddenly we had people from Kelowna, Vancouver, even Toronto asking if we could do this online. Built our first course series. Learned a lot about what works in video format versus in-person teaching.
What's Next
Now we're focused on making investment education accessible to younger Canadians—people in their twenties and thirties who know they should start investing but don't know where to begin. Our fall 2025 program launches in September.
Meet Kelda
She's been with us since those early whiteboard days. Started as a participant in our first workshop, now she leads most of our course development. Her background is in education, not finance, which is exactly why she's good at explaining this stuff.
Kelda Järvinen
Education DirectorBefore joining Yuvoxer full-time in 2022, Kelda spent eight years teaching high school math. She got interested in financial literacy after realizing most of her students had no idea how credit cards actually worked.
Workshop Environment
Our sessions are intentionally small. We cap enrollment at 18 people because once you go beyond that, it becomes harder to answer individual questions properly. Everyone learns at different speeds.
Course Development
We test every module with a pilot group before launching publicly. Sometimes what seems clear to us completely confuses participants, and we have to rethink the whole approach. That's just part of the process.
Individual Support
Group courses are great, but some topics need one-on-one time. We offer optional mentorship sessions where you can ask questions specific to your situation without worrying about what others think.
